My approach to life: Follow your heart.
This is why I’ve been writing and editing articles for magazines, newspapers and websites for more than a decade. Published digitally and in print, my articles have been featured in the National Post, Best Health, the Toronto Star, This Magazine and more.

After our children were born, I began to freelance part-time, and I'm grateful to work as a writer and editor alongside some wonderful clients. Currently, I work as the lead UX content strategist at Staples Canada; I copyedit articles for Pivot Magazine; and I'm creating a story shaped by feedback from readers (that could be you!) as part of a Collaborative Tale in partnership with Learning with Leong. I'm also editing my YA novel In Your Dreams before seeking publication, and sharing writing tips and inspiration in my newsletter Doing the Write Thing.

Janie Vu, manager, learning & development
As a professional writer for nearly 20 years who has worked with a number of editors, I can honestly say that Marisa is one of the most talented I have ever worked with. In the three years that she edited my stories for Yellow Pages, I was confident that my work would be read thoroughly and if adjustments were necessary to help the writing flow, she would let me know constructively. This is rare.
